The Path of an Artist - IV

After a long absence from activities at the okiya, Okaasan encouraged me to do a performance. And this time, I wouldn't be musician. I really don't know why I get so nervous over something so simple as telling a story, but I suppose that shows I care. I found out that the performances that I played musician on do not count to my requirements, so I am at square one with that. But now that I have my first performance out of the way, I feel rededicated to the okiya. It was fun! This performance will be quite memorable, and it will be a story I will most definitely share with my future imouto, should I reach that stage in my career.

My First Performance - Asagao - March 28, 2009

Guests:

My dear friends Ella, and Ari...Ari's the furry one. Oh wait, Ella's furry too XD

Geo-san is a wonderful man. He listens to the stories intently, and his reactions encourage you to continue. Behind him you can see Soleil-chan, a new minarai, Okaasan, Ella and Ari, and Ichisumi-san.

The Yuki Onna, or the Snow Lady, made an appearance. She generally loves chaotic stories, and the story I told had much trickery and violence. Her comments are always witty and humorous :).
Also, the Maiko on her left is Ichisumi-san, and I met her about an hour before the performance at the Tenran kimono store. She is a very kind person, and I look forward to seeing her in the future!

Ookini, everyone!

The Performance:
Here I am waiting to begin.

Meimi-chan did this performance with me. I was really happy that she could participate!

The performance went very well. There was a little bit of an issue with a greifer during poor Meimi-chan's performance, but it was taken care of, and Meimi persevered!

Meimi and I after the performance.

Looking up from under the small Koi pond.

After the show, I used my tips to buy some new kimono. Before the floor rezzed in the Pontocho district, the water looked very beautiful, so I took the time to capture this image.

And for some fixed up pictures:

Me, donning one of my new kimono inside of the Okiya this morning.

Thank you to everyone who made this performance a success.

Ookini!
